SCALLION with support from Midnight Revolution and Combustion

SCALLION are on a mission to reignite a following for #NoNonsense guitar-driven funk rock. Combining catchy, anthemic songwriting with intriguing and unique sounds, SCALLION offer up a well-crafted blend of originality and nostalgia, delivered with infectious energy.

SCALLION in their current form have gradually evolved from an instrumental jazz-funk trio with original members Howard Collins (guitar) and Rupert Waldron (drums) still a driving force in this new direction. Howard, our ‘el Professor’ of riff-writing, seamlessly pulls the strings with his unique touch-sensitive playing. Meanwhile Rupert is an accomplished and experienced drummer bringing technical and varied styles and influences.

As for the later additions, the instantly likeable Jim Rowlands was next on the scene, bringing presence and power but without being the traditional frontman diva. Bassist Mart Greenslade was a perfectly suited acquisition with his incredible slapping technique and non-stop energy. Finally, and most recently, guitarist Oli Naylor has brought flair and sonic texture to complete a full line-up with an exciting breadth of creativity and skill and usher in this focused and ambitious era of SCALLION.

SCALLION have been working hard over the last year to build a set crammed with quality original tracks. With a debut single and video on the brink of release, SCALLION mean business and will be available to stream from mid-June.

From appearing as favoured regulars around their local music scene to making their second appearance at Exeter Phoenix New Bands Showcase, SCALLION have recently announced themselves to the world debuting their epic livestreamed set on Tazma Studios YouTube channel. With the help of Pattern Pusher’s Ben Green producing their upcoming single and the backing of Cameron Mills Group, SCALLION are ready to share their enjoyment and passion for awesome live music.
